To help ease the pain from the sudden departure of our sweet betta Bill, we did what any grieving pet owner would do and got ourselves a brand new fish. Boy oh boy, is he a beaut! Bright red with little green sparkles! Alas, thus far he has no name. Early frontrunners include "Mr. Sparklepants", "Michael Cerveris" and "Dr. House".
Suggestions?

Okay that right there Stef, is why you're brilliant.
How about "Gortie" after the Gorton's (frozen seafood) fisherman? Or come up with some Siamese-sounding name because they're also called Siamese fighting fish.

Red with green sparkles? - sounds like a chorus boy at a Christmas Spectacular to me. Can't think of a fitting name, though.
Here's a suggestion from my friend Denise - since he's a "replacement" for Beta Bill, name him Falco (Keanu Reeves character in "The Replacements").
